I have read several posts regarding the spirits that seem to be prevailing at this particular time. One of the strongest is deceit. There seems to be blatant attempts to twist things for people’s own personal ends. Pray for a spirit of truth. Another spirit is the spirit of hatred. This will latch on to almost anything. You can have Republican hating Democrat and vice versa or black hating white or vice versa. This hatred is magnified by our feelings of frustration and helplessness as we all have face issues rising out of the pandemic and seeing our jobs, savings, families, rights and country divided and destroyed. The other spirit which has been mentioned in some of the blogs is a spirit of greed. This is manifested in a number of different ways. It can be manifested as an attempt to gain wealth, power or prestige over others. It shows up in our envy for those who have what we do not. And it will manifest itself in hoarding and grasping and profiteering. Watch for these things. Pray for our country and its people that we will move in truth rather than deceit, in love rather than hatred and in generosity rather than greed.
