Jesus is the Bread of Life. He is the Manna from Heaven.
Jesus is the Lamb of God. He is the Passover Lamb. His blood was shed for us.
I believe that the Bible was given to us by God and shows us the way to salvation. In its original form, I believe it is not only good for instruction but is infallible. The Bible should be read with the help of the Holy Spirit to lead us to God’s truth for our lives.
Christian Beliefs are also reflected in The Apostles Creed and in the Nicene Creed which are reproduced below. These ancient statements of faith summarize orthodox Christian beliefs by early Christian leaders.
THE APOSTLES’ CREED
- I believe in God almighty
- And in Christ Jesus, his only son, our Lord
- Who was born o fthe Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
- Who was crucified under Pontius Pilate and was buried
- And the tird day rose from the dead
- Who ascended into heaven
- And sitteth on the right hand of the Father
- Whence he cometh to judge the living and the dead
- And in the Holy Ghost
- The holy church
- The remission of sins
- The resurrection of the flesh
- The life everlasting.
THE CREED OF NICAEA
We believe in one God the Father All-sovereign, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, Begotten of the Father before all the ages, Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten not made, of one substance with the Father, through whom all things were made;
Who for us men and our salvation came down from the heavens, and was made flesh of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man, and was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures, and ascended into the heavens and sitteth on the right hand of the Father, and cometh again with glory to judge living and dead, of whose kingdom there shall be no end;
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and the Life-giver, that proceedeth from the Father, who with Father and Son is worshipped together and glorifed together, who spake through the prophets;
In one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church;
We acknowdge one baptism unto remission of sins.
We look for a resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come.
THE SIMPLICITY OF CHRIST
2 Cor. 11:3 says that “We need to make sure our thoughts are not seduced from the simplicity and purity of Christ. The Basics that Christ taught are simple to understand; however less simple to carry out. However salvation is simple. We accept the blood sacrifice for our sins and failure to achieve God’s plan for our lives. Jesus the Lamb of God shed his blood for us. Through grace we are saved not of works lest any person should boast. Below are some of the simple things we are commanded to do.
The Two Golden Commandments are:
- Love the Lord our God with all of our heart, all of our mind, all of our soul and all of our strength.
- Love our neighbor as ourself.
Here are some other things you might consider:
- Care for the widows and the orphans.
- Feed the hungry
- Shelter those who need shelter.
- Bind up the wounds of hurt people
- Pray for those who are in prison and visit them
- Pray for the sick and hurting and help them.
- Serve and give to the poor.
- Walk humbly.
- Live with simplicity.
